Yet another star lost in the final days of 2016.
It’s been reported that prolific actress Barbara Tarbuck, who played Lady Jane Jacks on General Hospital for over a decade, has died at 74 years old.
Tarbuck died Monday at her home in Los Angeles of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease — a rare, incurable neurodegenerative disease — her daughter Jennifer Lany Connolly confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

Tarbuck portrayed Jax Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) mother on the ABC soap opera from 1996 until 2010, and appeared on the second season of American Horror Story playing Jessica Lange‘s compassionate Mother Superior Claudia in five episodes of Asylum.
The actress actually played another nun in the 1980s, playing Sister Allegra on the NBC daytime serial Santa Barbara — and has appeared on countless television shows like The Waltons, Dallas, Police Squad!, M*A*S*H, Cagney & Lacey, The Golden Girls, Judging Amy, Star Trek: Enterprise, NYPD Blue, Nip/Tuck, Glee, and Mad Men.
Tarbuck’s film roles include Big Trouble, Curly Sue, The Tie That Binds, and Walking Tall. She was also an accomplished stage actress, appearing in the original 1983 production of Neil Simon‘s Brighton Beach Memoirs.
So sad to see another star go. Our hearts go out to Barbara’s loved ones at this difficult time.
