Strap in, horror fans! American Horror Story is returning in a MAJOR way with fan favorite cast members!
On Tuesday, the Mouse House held their 2026 Disney Upfront, where they presented a glimpse of what’s to come from the colossal studio and its many subsidiaries. Included in that list is FX, which has been the home of American Horror Story throughout its many seasons. But we have a feeling season 13 might just become a LOT of fans’ most favorite of all, because it’s bringing back major players from the past — even more so than Season 8’s Apocalypse season did!
According to several reports, the new installment will reportedly serve in many ways as a follow up to beloved past seasons, including season 1, Murder House, season 3, Coven, season 5, Hotel, and others. But you couldn’t do right by the seasons without bringing back all the standouts! According to IMDb, Emma Roberts, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, and THE legend herself Jessica Lange (!!!) are all 100 percent confirmed to be returning! We knew that from the moment exes Emma and Evan awkwardly stepped on the Upfront stage together! Ha!
Additionally, pop superstar Ariana Grande and Love Story’s Paul Anthony Kelly are joining the cast.
This is every FX horror fan’s dream!!!

As viewers will know, all the cast members listed above have portrayed various different characters throughout the anthology series so it’s largely up in the air which characters in particular will be back, but we do know for sure Emma Roberts will at the very least be portraying Madison Montgomery from season 3!

Other rumored character returns include Cordelia Goode, Constance Langdon, Marie Laveau, Delphine Lalaurie, Mr. March, Kai Anderson, Winter Anderson, Lana Winters, Queenie Mallory Nan, Adelaide Langdon, Coco, Mamie Eisenhower, TB Karen, Richard Ramirez, Dahmer, Piggy Man, Rubber Man, and The Black Dahlia.

On Reddit, several fans have weighed in with where they believe season 13’s story will go, and how it will bridge together so many iconic past installments:
“Maybe the Armaggeadon [sic] this time is allowing spirits/the dead to roam the Earth unhibited [sic]? Seems like March and the other Devil’s Night attandees [sic] are all together outside of Hotel Cortez.”
“Two main things I noticed: 1. Yayyy the original Coven layout and not that godawful sugar-free Ms. Robichauxs set they had in Apocalypse. 2. James Patrick March is at the Coven house it looks like? Not sure how I feel about that. Maybe his spirit is freed.”
“Is that… is that… Richard freaking Ramirez? 1984? Hype!!! By the way, Miss Robichaux’s looks like coming straight out of season 3!”
