The music gods have smiled upon us, Perezcious readers!
On Tuesday, Ashlee Simpson revealed to Us Weekly during an event for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf that she has new music in the works! And, considering Autobiography and I Am Me gifted us with some of the greatest songs of the 2000s, we couldn’t be more excited!
The blonde beauty dished deets about the upcoming project, and even told the tabloid that the creative endeavor will be a joint effort with husband Evan Ross!

She spilled:
“We’re working on an album together. So in the new year, that will be happening! It’s been really fun to work together.”
Awwww! We’re glad the longtime loves have no problem mixing their professional and personal lives! In fact, they both GUSHED about it!
Evan explained:
“When you work separately, you don’t get to hang out ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ so this works out well.”
Meanwhile, Ash is already thinking about the future perks, raving:
“This way we can tour together! I’m definitely excited. I love working with my husband.”
The actress admitted their collaborative sound is “soulful, fun and reflective of music that [we] both like,” but said they’ll eventually divide and conquer:
“We’re doing this album together and then we’ll go off and do our own.”
Ooooh! Solo, huh?! We’d LOVE a sequel to Boyfriend (titled Husband, perhaps?!) or a followup to Pieces of Me!
We can’t wait for whatever these two have in store!
