Bette Midler has just signed on as producer for the musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, after seeing it once.
Bette says she loved it so much, “I’d be starring in it – if I were a gay man!”

Sources say Midler wants to be a hands-on producer. After seeing the show in London, she called James L. Nederlander, one of the producers, and said she wanted to join the production.
Midler’s going to Toronto next week for the first preview. She’ll attend rehearsals and note sessions and, says a source, “will not be shy about expressing her opinions.”
If she fronting money for the production, why should she!?
Bette is a class act and extremely talented – we think she could do great things with this play!
Would U go see the play knowing Bette Midler was part of the producing team!?
