Not only does Blake Lively have a feud with Justin Baldoni and problems with her longtime best friend Taylor Swift, based on the latest whispers… But she also has beef with another co-star! At least that is what sources are saying now!
As the legal dispute with her It Ends With Us director continues, the actress is gearing up for the release of her next film — a sequel to the sleeper hit A Simple Favor, titled appropriately Another Simple Favor. And if you thought her new movie would be drama-free, think again! Rumors of a feud between Blake and her co-star Anna Kendrick have circulated online for years. In fact, many have speculated their on-set tension caused a delay in the release of this next movie!
Their fellow co-star Henry Golding previously denied the rumors on Watch What Happens Live, saying there was “definitely no friction that I noticed” on set. Just last month, director Paul Feig even shut down an accusation that Blake is delaying the film as she refuses to “promote” the movie due to “her messy legal battle” with Justin and “growing tensions with Anna Kendrick.” Word was her cold feet had left Anna “furious” and Paul “disappointed.” However, he said on January 10:
“This is total BS. Sorry. The movie is finished and coming out soon. Don’t believe anything you read on social media these days.”
The film is dropping soon! It was announced earlier this week Another Simple Favor would premiere at SXSW and be released on Prime Video on May 1. No theatrical though. That’s not a good sign.
However, Blake and Anna? Everything is NOT fine between them, as Paul would like us to believe!

On Friday, a source told Dailymail.com that Anna is pissed at Blake! Why? For several reasons! For starters, claims the insider, she’s upset over how the Gossip Girl alum has handled her ongoing lawsuits with Justin and feels it will hurt their upcoming movie. (It totally will.) They originally had a whole promotional tour set, but it could be overshadowed due to Blake’s legal mess. The insider explained:
“There is a gigantic pink elephant in the room that no one is acknowledging. The backlash to initial promo has been brutal. There are people protesting and refusing to see it. Blake has not addressed this. She has not called the cast to apologise. She has not done anything like that. She has stayed quiet and hidden away. She owes Anna an apology. She owes them all an apology.”
According to the source, the Pitch Perfect star “is just over all of it,” adding:
“If Anna was in this position, she would not be letting the film take the fall for her own personal issues.”
Unfortunately for Anna, she may be right to worry about the impact the lawsuit battle will have on the success of the sequel! A lot of people really have been saying online they won’t watch the film as they are on Justin’s side and don’t want to support Blake in any way. Yikes. Blake could turn out to be as bad for business as Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, and Ezra Miller…
And that’s not the only issue Anna has with Blake. There’s also the matter of the billing. When the release date dropped, it came with a poster, and fans noticed a very strange detail! Anna’s name is first, but Blake’s is slightly above, making hers the highest on the poster. Check it out (below):
In the first film, Anna got top billing. Considering she’s still the protagonist AND the bigger star, whose movies have grossed more than $4 billion, you’d think it would be the same for the second one! That’s what Anna thought, too! However, Blake fought her on it! Whoa! Unlike Justin, though, Anna would not give in to her demands! A second source claimed:
“In the original film Anna got top billing over Blake. She thought it was a no-brainer that the same would happen this time around. But Blake didn’t see it that way. She fought, through her reps to get top billing over Anna, who refused to bow to Blake’s demands.”
Eventually, the pair came to an agreement that they would do the staggered billing:
“Finally, after weeks of negotiations a deal was struck between the actresses. They agreed on staggered billing, which meant Anna’s name would read first and Blake’s would be above hers but on the right-hand side. In the business that’s considered equal billing.”
Neither Blake nor Anna were “thrilled” but accepted the outcome because “they knew they needed to come to an agreement.” Frankly neither of them won this way, but the movie lost most of all — because it looks so odd, everyone immediately clocked it and wondered about the petty negotiations!
At this time, Blake and Anna have not reacted to the feud rumors. Reactions, Perezcious readers? Do you believe Anna and Blake are feuding? Sound OFF in the comments below!
