Find Out What 'Really Bugged' Carrie Fisher About Her HBO Documentary With Mom Debbie Reynolds!

It took Carrie Fisher some time to actually enjoy the documentary she filmed with mom Debbie Reynolds.
While talking to E! News, Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds director Fisher Stevens explained the late Star Wars icon wasn’t always thrilled with the HBO project.

Fisher insisted the 60-year-old ultimately “really loved the film” but admitted it took her a while to get to that point, saying:

“At first we had to kind of├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥she was a little shocked at the intimacy of it.”

The filmmaker explained the When Harry Met Sally star was even irritated by the picture at first, but ended up loving how it painted her iconic momma, adding:

“There were little things that really bugged her, but in the end she fell in love with the film and thought it was a love letter to her and her mother, and that’s the good news, that she loved it.”

So, what bothered Carrie so much?!
Well the director said that, in the behind-the-scenes look at Carrie and Debbie’s roller coaster of a relationship, the acclaimed artist didn’t want to film a Star Wars fan convention.

However, she actually liked how it turned out!
And while she was worried about conflicts with her Disney contract, Fisher did reflect on a funny moment cameras captured while Carrie was training for her role as General Leia:

“She does this workout to trim down for Princes Leia and she finishes the workout and lights a cigarette and drinks a Coca-Cola, and the trainer’s like, ‘Carrie, no!’ and grabs the Coke and pours it out. The next thing you see her assistant putting Coca-Colas in the refrigerator. That was Carrie, a real original.”

Bright Lights premieres Saturday, January 7 at 8 p.m. on HBO.
