China Is Done Giving Orphans Orphany Last Names
Good news for 100,000 orphans living in China!
In the past, the country has giving its orphans the last name ├óΓé¼┼ôGuo├óΓé¼┬¥ or ├óΓé¼┼ôDang├óΓé¼┬¥ meaning property of the state or party — names are synonymous with the word “Orphan”.
So… basically their last name is Orphan kid. Not cool.
Having a last name with an inescapable stigma only makes it harder for the those poor parentless children to fit into society.
Thankfully. China is banning the use of those super lame names. Chinese orphanages will no longer be allowed to name babies ├óΓé¼┼ôGuo├óΓé¼┬¥ or ├óΓé¼┼ôDang├óΓé¼┬¥ or anything that indicates they’re orphans.
The new regulations require orphans be given surnames chosen from among the 100 most common Chinese family names.
This ban is sure to improve the lives of the parentless citizens of China, and make the “more Chin’s than a Chinese phonebook” diss, all the more insulting!
