So happy to see Chris Cuomo is once again a “free” man and finally out of quarantine!
The CNN host and news anchor finally walked upstairs out of his basement on Monday, after being “cleared” by the CDC from ongoing coronavirus symptoms. He had been living in self-isolation down there away from his family as he fought the disease over the past couple of weeks. Hallelujah!

The 49-year-old further revealed his wife, Cristina Cuomo, has also been given the green light to be released from her own self-isolation after she, too, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month. In a video posted to Instagram, the TV host explained the events in a little bit more detail, saying (below):
“My wife was cleared by the CDC. She doesn’t have a fever, she doesn’t have the symptoms anymore and [it’s been] more than seven days in her quarantine. This is the dream, just to be back up here doing normal things.”

Ever the good TV professional with a mind for the camera, Cuomo even had his exact moment of re-entry captured on video! The nightly news anchor posted the clip to his own Instagram page (below), noting it was “the official re-entry from the basement” as he started walking up the stairs into the family’s living room for the first time in days:
Let’s get after it, indeed! Good to see him feeling better after a tough couple of weeks under the weather.

The couple now reunites with their three kids — Bella, Mario, and Carolina — as they attempt to get back to “normal” after dealing with dueling bouts of the illness that’s quickly spread across the globe. In fact, Chris was quick to thank his kids publicly in the video, noting how appreciative he was that they held down the fort while both mom and dad fell ill:
“Thank you for being so nice to me. Thank you for taking care of everything you had to. Thank you for taking care of me. Bella, thank you for stepping up and now adding family videographer to your résumé. She’s rolling her eyes.”
Awww! Haha!
Along with the re-emergence video, last night the New Yorker also posted a pic of him and daughter Carolina, captioning it his “first smile in a long while” capturing their mini-reunion:

Cuomo had a tough time down in the basement the last two weeks, so it’s good to see him bright and cheery again, and back with his beloved family. Now, all that inter-family bickering on camera can stop, too, right?! Ha!
