Chris Cuomo Won't Let Coronavirus Diagnosis Stop Him From Bickering With Brother Andrew Cuomo!

Chris Cuomo contracts coronavirus

Chris Cuomo will be reporting the news from the comfort of his home for the time being, as the CNN anchor is the latest celeb to be diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.

The network said Tuesday that its most-watched anchor had tested positive for COVID-19, but would continue hosting Cuomo Prime Time while being quarantined at home.

Cuomo confirmed the news in a statement on Twitter, writing:

“I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive and I had fever, chills and shortness of breath. I just hope I didn’t give it to the kids and Cristina. That would make me feel worse than this illness! I am quarantined in my basement (which actually makes the rest of the family seem pleased!) I will do my shows from here. We will all beat this by being smart and tough and united!”

Despite being quarantined, Cuomo is still committed to giving viewers the news content they crave, like his hilariously combative interviews with his brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Yes, Perezcious readers, during Chris’ first night of quarantined anchoring on Monday, his big brother popped in for an update on New York’s coronavirus response efforts — and, to the delight of viewers, another on-air squabble.

As fans know, Cuomo vs. Cuomo interviews have become a staple event on CNN over the course of the coronavirus pandemic, with the reporter and New York politician delighting viewers with their snarky exchangesAlthough the two steered clear of family topics on Monday night (we still don’t know who their mom’s favorite really is), their very serious discussion was peppered with sarcasm.

Their repartee reached a crescendo when discussing if Andrew had his sights set on becoming US president at some point down the light. Chris asked his brother in a mildly sarcastic tone:

“Are you thinking about running for president? Tell the audience.”

The 62-year-old governor quickly replied, “No,” prompting Chris to ask:

“No, you won’t answer?”

Andy responded:

“No, I answered. The answer is no. I answered the questions, sometimes it’s one word: No.”

Later in the interview, Chris asked:

“How can you know what you might think about at some point right now?”

To which Andrew replied:

“Because I know what I might think about and what I won’t think about… You’re a great interviewer, by the way.”

Chris then bit back:

“Appreciate it, learned from the best.”

Awww.

It’s great to know that when times are uncertain, we can count on the Cuomos to entertain us with their brotherly love.
