Miley Cyrus 'Has Always Been' Cody Simpson's Childhood Celebrity Crush!

This is super cute! All you have to do is speak things into existence, sometimes!

It turns out Cody Simpson has been crushing on Miley Cyrus for a long time now — at least seven years, to be exact — if a recently unearthed 2012 video interview is any indication! In the clip where Simpson discusses being on tour and his early music career, he also opens up about the pop songstress, including his admiration — and romantic desires — for her!

After being asked about his childhood celebrity crush, the then-15-year-old shares about the now-former Disney Channel star, telling Fuse TV (below):

“Miley Cyrus has always been my childhood celebrity crush. I know all the words to her songs, I’m not gonna lie. I’m not ashamed about it at all. I was a big Miley Cyrus fan and I think she will be forever the most date-able Disney star.”

Awww! Isn’t that just adorable… and a little prescient!

Of course, as fans of the pair know, these two first became friends soon after that, and they had a good rapport earlier in their careers — as late as 2015, based on an interview Simpson did at the time with GQ — before suddenly showing off this blossoming romance over the past few days!

Just goes to show y’all: where there’s a will, there’s a way! Ha!!!

Cody and Miley got together over the weekend for more low-key fun, too, and they couldn’t resist documenting it on social media. The pair held a night in, choosing to watch Blue Hawaii — one of Miley’s favorite movies — during which Cody referenced a line from the classic film in a very sweet post to his Instagram Stories, as you can see (below):
