Earlier we brought you guys a story about David Beckham stopping by a hospital in Australia to spread some holiday cheer, and now we’re hearing that’s not the only stop he made while abroad!
David even visited with rescued street kids in the Philippines at a children’s shelter outside of Manila!!
All the kids took turns talking to him and telling him their stories, and every one of them had an impact:
“What struck me the most about coming into the center was it was a real happy place, a real inspiring place. They are teaching kids unbelievable values. Every child I spoke to today – they all have dreams, they all have inspirations. I think it is important to raise awareness to many issues around the world, many worries around the world. In my position, thankfully, I can create that kind of interest and awareness to things that are happening around the world.”
Soccer is pretty huge in these areas of the world, so meeting a world cup athlete like David has to do so much for their morale. And we think it’s just incredible that he’s taking the time to do this.
Wonder what else we’ll learn about DB today! Ha
