Emma Thompson is a badass!
The actress appeared on Swedish talk show Skavlan last week and recounted the time a costar on one of her movies was asked to lose weight.

Emma immediately swooped in and put a stop to all that nonsense. She said:
“There was a wonderful actress in a film I did called Brideshead Revisited. The producer said to her, ├óΓé¼╦£Will you lose some weight?’ And she was absolutely exquisite! I said to them, ‘If you speak to her about this again, on any level, I will leave this picture. You are never to do that.'”
Pow!
The veteran actress went on to talk about how widespread the problem is in the industry, saying:
“It’s evil what’s happening and what’s going on there, and it’s getting worse. The French fashion industry said they would get rid of size zero and then, you know, they didn’t.”
She added:
“The anorexia ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ there’s so many kids, girls and boys now, and actresses who are very, very thin into their 30s, who simply don’t eat. They don’t eat ├óΓé¼┬ª Sometimes there are just some subjects that you absolutely have to make noise about because it’s so tedious and it’s gone on and on.”
The 57-year-old may need to come to the rescue of others, but when it comes to herself, she has a standard, fool-proof response anytime her own appearance is criticized:
“Sorry, do you want me to be an actress or a model?”
