Even Better Than Expected

Amazing! AMAZING!

There is no other word to describe this!

Alicia Keys‘ new album, As I Am, has done EVEN BETTER than expected.

The Soundscan numbers are in and Alicia sold an astonishing 742,426 copies in the U.S. since its release last week. That’s massive!

It’s also THREE times as many copies as the #2 disc sold. And coming in second – somewhat of a surprise – is Josh Groban. His Christmas album Noel sold a very healthy 223,306 copies. And it’s already been out a few weeks!

Groban’s appearance on Oprah yesterday will likely ensure him equally big numbers next week and throughout the holiday season.

Celine Dion‘s first album of new material, Taking Chances, came in 3rd, selling 214,381 copies.

And, poor Britney Spears, isn’t even in the top 10 anymore. She’s not even in the top 20!

Britney came in at an incredibly disappointing #23, selling 51,520 copies.

P.S. The Alicia album really is amazing.
