Hold on to your seat, folks – we’re heading into the future!
Bill & Melinda Gates are dipping into their wallets for a futuristic bracelet that will “measure engagement physiologically” that is based on “galvanic skin response” levels.
We’re not sure if this is the correct way to stop boredom in school classrooms, and some people DEFINITELY don’t think this is a good idea.
Here’s what one columnist said:

“If this tells us anything, it is that the obsession with measurement and data in school reform has reached new nutty heights, the money could have been spent on things that schools actually need, such as books, teachers, librarians, etc.” What’s more, what if a student is galvanized by a friend’s whispering, and not the lesson at hand? Here’s another option: “How about simply asking students what they thought” of the class?”

It’s obvious that both Bill Gates and the columnist above have two very similar things in common and that’s that they both care a TON about children.
They just have different ideas and ways to go about it.
