Sources reveal via the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, that the kids of Glee will be singing somewhere between 15-18 songs on their mini tour, which hits El Lay May 20-22. The show won’t just be a crazy cluster of the group’s greatest hits, but instead, follow a story in which the group competes with their rivals, Vocal Adrenaline.
Oh! Cameo from Idina Menzel? Yes? Yes?!
That we don’t know, but what we do know is that FOX is pulling out all the stops for this one, funneling in enough dough to make your head spin. Not only will the staging be a multimedia extravaganza, but the execs let Ryan, who is directing and producing the show, hire Lady GaGa’s set designer to work the staging!
Doesn’t get much better than that! As Ryan explains:
├óΓé¼┼ôIt├óΓé¼Γäós a huge stage. We├óΓé¼Γäóve got multimedia. It├óΓé¼Γäós really big. Fox believes in it so much that they├óΓé¼Γäóve hired the best people. It├óΓé¼Γäós not about going out and selling out a lot of dates and making a lot of money. In fact, we won├óΓé¼Γäót make any money with this first tour because we├óΓé¼Γäóve put so much money into the set design. It├óΓé¼Γäós really just a great thank you to our fans.”
We don’t think you Gleeks will be too disappointed, except that they ONLY sing 18 songs.
