It’s been several months since Kim Kardashian West made the internet explode with her nude selfie on Instagram.
And it seems the KUWTK starlet’s viral moment left a lasting impression with members of Hollywood’s elite, specifically Helen Mirren.

For an interview with The Telegraph‘s Sunday Stella magazine, the Oscar winner praised the reality TV star being a role model for body positivity. Miz Mirren shared:
“I’m not into the Kardashians, it’s a phenomenon I just don’t find interesting, but ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and this is the big word: B-U-T-T ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ it’s wonderful that you’re allowed to have a butt nowadays! Thanks to Madame Kardashian, and before her, J.Lo. We’re also allowed to have thighs now, which is great too. It’s very positive.”
The Woman in Gold actress went on to note how different things are nowadays compared to when she started out in the ’60s. She added:
“When I was growing up, it was thought to be unbelievably sluttish to even have a bra strap showing. Everything was about women conforming. I love shameless women. Shameless and proud!”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. We wonder if the 70-year-old’s stamp of approval will change Bette Midler and Chlo├â┬½ Grace Moretz‘s opinions on Kimmy Kakes’ risque picture choice. We doubt it!
