This is so sad.
On Wednesday morning, journalist Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward were shot on camera by a disgruntled former employee of the news station WDBJ7.
We’re not shocked that this tragic story has inspired so many powerful people both in Hollywood and D.C. to speak out on this unfortunate incident.

In fact, Presidential candidate and Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton took to Twitter to share her condolences to the victims’ family — as well as her thoughts on gun control.
She wrote:
Heartbroken and angry. We must act to stop gun violence, and we cannot wait any longer. Praying for the victims’ families in Virginia. -H

As Hillary could easily become the leader of the free world in 2016, we’re inspired to see a politician taking such a staunch stance on gun control.
However the former Secretary of State was not alone in her opinions as many in Hollywood also took to the social media site to comment on this unspeakable tragedy — including Darren Criss, Ricky Gervais, and Sophia Bush.
Check out their responses below:
Don’t know what to say. I’m just sick to my stomach and so, so sad. Nothing to do but hold on to each other and pray for something better.

Something’s gotta change.

If “guns don’t kill people, people do” makes any sense, then you can say the same about bombs. Lets give everyone the right to have bombs.
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
“Guns don’t kill people. People do” Yeah, people with fucking guns! #idiots
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
Shocked by the insanity of the Virginia shooting. My thoughts are with the loved ones and I hope we will find a solution to this madness.

“if you ban guns you should ban cars too.” – A moron. When cars are made specifically as a weapon and can be concealed in your pocket maybe.
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
My Twitter feed at the moment proves that only the angriest, most unstable people want everyone to have guns.
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
Some dopey twat just tweeted “guns aren’t the problem. Everyone who isn’t a killer should be allowed to have one.” Hahaha. Perfect.
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
“I’d like to buy a gun please” “Are you ever going to kill someone with it?” “No” “Promise?” “No. I mean yes. I promise” “Ok. Here you go”
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
“Not everyone who buys a gun is insane” < Very true. The problem is that not every sane person who buys a gun stays sane for ever. Tricky.
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
I wonder if all these people desperate to own guns because it’s their legal right would happily hand them over if the law was changed?
— Ricky Gervais (@rickygervais) August 26, 2015
Shocked and horrified by the news coming out of Virginia… To murder people and then live tweet about it?? It’s sick.
— Sophia Bush (@SophiaBush) August 26, 2015
He video taped himself committing murder. He tweeted about it. He posted the video. What has happened to us? #virginia

Why is no one talking/ writing about the 10 years old who held a classroom hostage with a gun yesterday in Virgina? #guncontrol

RIP Alison Parker & Adam Ward. Two TV journalists shot dead live on air in America today. Horrendous. pic.twitter.com/B6ruMYyCQ2
