Over the past two decades, Hocus Pocus has become a Halloween classic for young and old — and no one is more aware of the film’s long-lasting magic than Winifred Sanderson herself, Bette Midler.
Like the rest of us, the actress is still spellbound over the 1993 horror comedy, and doesn’t quite understand why a sequel still hasn’t happened! Speaking to Billboard, she said:
“You don’t get to see women doing slapstick too much, and in the movie you can see that we’re having a blast. For the life of me, I can’t understand why there’s not a sequel. All the shackles were off, as Donald Trump likes to say, and we were allowed to be as wild as we wanted to be. It was a perfect storm of fun.”
The 70-year-old has made it clear she and costars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy would be down to reprise their witchy roles, but revealed the decision to make a sequel is ultimately up to Disney.
So apparently, we just have to keep on waiting for some virgin executive to light that Black Flame candle and bring our fave sisters back to life!
