You’re a mean one, Sue Sylvester … but you weren’t always that way!
SPOILER ALERT: SOME SUE SYLVESTER BACKSTORY COMING YOUR WAY THAT WILL BE REVEALED IN AN UPCOMING EPISODE! DON’T WANNA KNOW? BUH-BYE!
Now that Glee is FINALLY coming out of it’s hiatus (praise the singing Gods!), we’re finally learning more of what is to come from upcoming episodes of Glee. We already know that the kid’s sex lives are going to play into one episode and that’s tonight we finally get to meet Damian McGinty’s lucky charm character, Rory. But what of the school’s wicked cheerleading coach? She’s out once again to destroy the Glee club, but for what reason? What really is her problem with the wonders of musical theater?
Here’s the answer, from Miss Jane Lynch herself!
A flashback reveals that 16-year-old Sue was actually in a production of Oklahoma! in her high school. She was torn apart by a brutal critic and she’s never recovered from the rejection. Jane admits:
“Her little heart was broken. Will tells Sue, ‘Poor little Susie Sylvester was told she wasn’t good, and now she’s got to punish the world.’ Like a lot of angry people out there, Sue’s a wannabe.”
WE KNEW IT! No one is that bitter about the spotlight unless they once longed for it themselves! We knew it!
For the flashback, the creators casted 19-year-old Colby Minifie for the part of young Sue, who Jane says has a “great voice and energy.” Stupendous! Maybe we’ll get to see more of her. We really do enjoy flashbacks.
MAYBE THEY COULD DO A WHOLE EPISODE IN FLASHBACK? Like, reflecting on their senior year! Think of all the fun storylines they could create!
