Justin Bieber is the latest celebrity to support PETA‘s “Adopt, Don’t Buy” campaign, telling the organization in an interview:
“It’s really important that people adopt. A lot of animals are getting abused in different homes, different situations. I think it’s important that we stay aware of these situations.”
Why is JBiebs so passionate for PETA?
Because the pop star picked up one of his dearest friends, Sam, from an animal shelter.
“I got him about a year ago…Sam was kind of like a pet friend,” he says of his dog, whom he got when he first came to America from Canada.
Justin says he used to visit animal shelters with his dad and encourages others to do the same so abandoned dogs like Sam can have a second chance.
