Who knew sweet lil’ Katie Couric had such a spicy past?!
Apparently behind that motherly adorableness is a lady who can reel in any man!
Including the King of Pop!!
We all know Katie as TV’s #1 sweetheart host, but she almost could have been Michael Jackson‘s #1 sweetheart if she hadn’t denied him.
That’s right, Perezcious readers, MJ had his eye on Katie over a dozen years ago, but it seems he didn’t have what it took to woo her away from her man. Katie admitted:
“[Rabbi Shmuley Boteach] called me in my office at the Today show. [He said] ‘Katie, I have a question for you, are you seeing anyone?’ And I thought, this is so beyond creepy that Rabbi Shmuley is hitting on me. I’m like ‘Rabbi Shmuley, you have like nine kids, what’s going on here?’ I said ‘Actually, I am [seeing someone].’ Because I had a boyfriend at the time. He said, ‘Oh, that’s a shame…Michael [Jackson] said to me ‘That’s the kind of girl I would like to go out with…’ and I said, ‘Rabbi Shmuley, that’s very flattering but I am seeing someone…will you tell him how flattered I am and what a nice compliment that is?'”
Damn!
Could you imagine what a ridic couple that would have been?? The press would have gone WILD!
But even though she turned down one of the biggest celebs of all celebs, she actually has said yes to quite a few dates with some other stars!
Unfortunately, those times around, she was the one getting rejected in the end as she explained:
“[Bob Saget] was fun, he was really fun. I had fun, I don’t think I did it for him … I went out with Jeff Probst once too. I think he had puka shells on├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥that was kind of a weird thing … I can’t say that I was devastated that neither called me back. I thought they were both nice guys … I don’t think there was real magic there with either [of them], but I enjoyed spending time with them.”
Phew! At least there weren’t too many broken hearts left behind.
And now that she’s happily dating John Molner, it looks like all worked out for the best!
But we really wouldn’t have minded seeing her lock lips with the King of Pop!
