Katy Perry Cancels Huge China Concert Due To 'Family Emergency' -- See Her Cryptic Announcement!

We hope everything is OK with Katy Perry!
On Wednesday, the Firework singer took to the popular Chinese website Weibo to announce the cancellation of a concert scheduled for Friday.

The singer was supposed to a headline a celebration hosted by online marketplace Alibaba, which allows millions of shoppers to participate in China’s biggest shopping event of the year, Singles Day. Let’s just say this homage to consumerism is much bigger and profitable than any of America’s Black Friday events.
While Perry failed to go into detail as to why she had to cancel, she cited a “family emergency” as the reason for bailing.
The entertainer’s full message read:

“Regretfully, I must cancel my appearance on the Alibaba Double 11 due to a family emergency. I am very sorry to disappoint my fans and look forward to seeing you in China soon.”

Aww. We only wish the best for Perry and her loved ones… fingers crossed it’s nothing serious.
Who knows, maybe Ms. Perry is still reeling from Hillary Clinton‘s loss to Donald Trump. She was one of her biggest supporters, after all.
Nah, she’s too much of a pro to cancel over that — even if it is severely depressing!
Luckily for attendees of the event, the fabulous David Beckham will take her place. While we doubt Becks will break out some vocals, we bet he’ll get the crowd going in some other creative way!
In addition to the athlete, Kobe Bryant and One Republic are also set to set take the stage.
Happy shopping, China!
