Over two decades after their divorce, Kim Basinger is letting us know what her relationship is like with Alec Baldwin.
The former Hollywood It couple were married for nine years back in the ’90s. For those who weren’t around at the time, they were THE toxic tabloid couple. Megan Fox and MGK ain’t got nothing on Alec and Kim’s headlines. They had a bitter custody battle over daughter Ireland Baldwin, and things got oh so nasty during their split. But in the years since, it seems like these two have made it to a much better place?

In a new interview with Variety, Kim made a rare — and surprisingly positive — comment on her ex-hubby:
“Alec and I have a great relationship. I have great respect for where he is today, and his family.”
Aww!
She went on to detail a little bit about their private life, saying they’re very “cordial” these days:
“You know, we don’t spend Christmases and holidays or see each other very much. But we talk. He’ll pick up the phone and call me, and we have a very genuinely cordial and I think loving relationship in a lot of ways, just because we share a daughter, and I don’t wish him anything but everything good.”
The actress also noted Alec has “been through a lot lately” with last summer’s legal disputes over the Rust shooting — but she gave props to his current wife Hilaria Baldwin for handling it all:
“[Hilaria] seems to have a great handle on that. So more power to her.”
