Out! Ryan Murphy Won't Be Directing Annie Remake

Whomp, whomp.
Can’t say that we blame the guy. He’s pretty busy these days.
Sony Pictures has decided to take Ryan Murphy off their list of potentials to direct Willow Smith in the remake of Annie. Though the Glee creator was Will Smith’s top pick for the job, talks “broke off” and so, Ryan is no longer in the running for the project.
They didn’t say so, but we imagine scheduling was one of the primary problems. Seriously, how is this guy suppose to direct a movie when he is writing not one, but two TV shows! He’s an amazing dude, but he’s not Superman.
Focus on the stuff you’ve already got on, Ryan. Leave someone else to bring a new version of Hard-Knock Life to 2011.
