Liam Payne May Have Been Hearing Voices On 'Pink Cocaine' -- Lamar Odom Weighs In

Liam Payne Pink Cocaine Hearing Voices Lamar Odom

Liam Payne may have been hallucinating just before his death after all…

The One Direction member lost his life when he jumped from the balcony of his 4th story room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina last Wednesday. Right away authorities began investigating the drug angle. Witnesses all said he seemed intoxicated, one even called the cops before he jumped as he was being “erratic” in hotel lobby.

Last week, we learned, based on forensics, that Liam was in a “state of semi or total unconsciousness” when he fell. Investigators said they suspected the singer may have been on a drug called “Cristal” — which causes hallucinations. The latest reports Monday say he had cocaine, crack, benzodiazepine, and what’s called “pink cocaine” in his system. Pink cocaine is not actually cocaine but rather a mix of multiple other drugs — often some combo of methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, caffeine, sometimes strawberry flavoring. So no Cristal, unless that’s a local street name for some combination of those drugs. But the hallucination theory may be right on.

TMZ reached out to someone with some experience with “pink cocaine,” as well as a lot of other drugs — Lamar Odom. The NBA star nearly died of a drug overdose but has been clean and sober for almost a decade.

Lamar told the outlet he’s done every drug Liam had in his system, including the pink cocaine cocktail — which he knew by another of its names, “Tusi”. He specifically called out crack as being the worst of these, btw. And yes, this cocktail could have made Liam hallucinate, in Lamar’s expert opinion. He recalled he “heard voices” when taking drug cocktails like these. As far as Liam throwing himself off the balcony? He lamented:

“If he was in a hallucination state, who knows what might happen… If you’re hearing voices then it’s hard to escape.”

Again, Lamar noted that crack was especially bad for making one paranoid, saying it can “really drive you up the wall.”

But you don’t have to take Lamar’s word for it. Per the Poison Control website, pink cocaine is meant to cause sociability and euphoria. But its list of potential adverse effects is chilling. Yes, it can cause hallucinations — but also “anxiety, elevated body temperature, increased heart rate and blood pressure, low sodium levels, nausea and vomiting, and rarely, seizures, abnormal heart rhythms, and coma.”

We have actually heard of a case of a model on pink cocaine getting behind the wheel, and it wasn’t pretty. She described being “from the future” and being pursued by aliens. So yeah, we’re thinking hallucinations are pretty likely.

So sad we may have lost Liam because he fell off the wagon and took something too strong. This may as well be an overdose story if that’s true. Awful.
