Lil Nas X is celebrating Pride just by being himself!
On Sunday, AKA World Pride Day, the Old Town Road artist took to Twitter to come out as gay!

Sharing an animated visual to go along with his single C7osure (You Like), the 20-year-old captioned the clip with a message to his fans to share his big announcement:
“some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to c7osure. ??✨”
It wasn’t just the rainbow emoji that hinted at the meaning behind his tweet, but if you check out the lyrics to his track (below), you may see what he means:
“Ain’t no more actin’, man that forecast say I should just let me grow / No more red light for me, baby, only green, I gotta go / Pack my past up in the back, oh, let my future take ahold / This is what I gotta do, can’t be regrettin’ when I’m old”
Lil Nas continues:
“Brand new places I’ll choose and I’ll go, I know / Embracin’ this news I behold unfolding / I know, I know, I know it don’t feel like it’s time / But I look back at this moment, I’ll see that I’m fine / I know, I know, I know it don’t feel like it’s time / I set boundaries for myself, it’s time to cross the line / True say, I want and I need / To let go, use my time to be free”
While the rapper never explicitly talks about his sexuality or says that he’s coming out, he did end up retweeting a fan’s screenshot of his other visuals which include a rainbow (below):

“I love that @LilNasX fits literally zero of societies boxes.
Such a window into gen z and I appreciate how free they are.
Keep being you, homie. ?”
“my favourite part of today is that lil nas x has had the homophobes singing ride till I ride no more with such vim”
“F**k! Coming OUT proud when you’re at the Top of the rap Game!!! Do you guys realize how monumental this is?!?! It’s a whole new world now when being gay is an asset! unheard of. So proud of @LilNasX & all #LGBTQA Heroes that changed the world for everyone ❤️?️? #pride @glaad”
