Lil Nas X Performs 'Panini' At The 2019 MTV VMAs! WATCH!

Lil Nas X MTV vmas performance

Considering Lil Nas X‘s Old Town Road spent 19 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, it’s no surprise MTV asked him to grace the VMAs stage!

The rapper performed his second hit Panini, and boy was it fun! Billy Ray Cyrus introduced the rapper — which makes sense, because the two of ’em went SO big with Old Town Road — and Nas jumped on stage on a futuristic set with the year 2079 flashing across the screen.

During the performance, the rapper did his thing with a fully choreographed set and a futuristic outfit, even giving us a low-key moon walk at one point… as well as getting Taylor Swift up out of her seat to dance a bit, too!!

Ch-ch-check out all of Lil Nas X’s fun Panini performance on the VMAs tonight (below):

So much fun!

This artist has truly had the year of his life in 2019, and it only continues to get better as he goes on from here. So great!! And while Old Town Road will forever be iconic for him even years from now, it seems like he’s got a hold on where he’s going from here, and how he can continue to innovate even after his legendary number one single runs its course.

The whole thing is incredible! And we’re all here and along for the ride, Billy Ray Cyrus included! LOLz!!!

Besides his hit single and debut album, the musician came out to his fans in 2019. Though he would have chose to keep his sexual preferences private, the “universe” forced him to reveal all.

During an interview with Time, Lil Nas X shared:

“I never would have done that if I wasn’t in a way pushed by the universe. In June, I’m seeing Pride flags everywhere and seeing couples holding hands — little stuff like that.”

And though there was some backlash around his revelation for a little while after, it’s clear the young superstar didn’t take too much of the negativity to heart. To hear him tell the story, it sure sounds like the rapper was meant to do it like this, haters be damned (below):

“Everything lined up for this moment to take me to this place. Not to sound self-centered, but it feels like I’m chosen, in a way, to do this stuff.”
