UPDATE 12:17 P.M. EST: Madonna has slammed the report from earlier today. In a statement to People she shared:
“I am in Malawi to check on the children’s hospital in Blantyre and my other work with Raising Malawi and then heading home. The rumors of an adoption process are untrue.”
Madonna is looking to expand her brood!
According to reports, Madge has filed adoption papers for two more children from Malawi. As you may recall, the Like A Virgin singer finalized the adoption of her son David from the African country back in 2008 and then, a year later, brought home her daughter Mercy James!

And it seems the Material Girl is eager to bring two more youngster into her fold as she reportedly appeared before a High Court judge on Wednesday. Although, it’s pretty much just a waiting game now to see if the 58-year-old’s petition is approved. A spokesman, named Mlenga Mvula, even noted the final decision is in the court’s hands!
Here’s hoping her past custody battle drama with Guy Ritchie over their teenager Rocco doesn’t affect her chances of becoming a mom again! As you may recall, the 16-year-old fled his mother’s world tour at the end of 2015 to live with his dad in the U.K. This forced the former flames to spar in court over where Rocco would live for a big portion of 2016!
The Like A Prayer artist is also mom to 20-year-old Lourdes Leon.
Nonetheless, the Evita actress has a long history with Malawi as, outside of adopting from the country, Madonna founded the Raising Malawi charity back in 2006. The charitable organization was created in order to address the poverty inflicted on the southern African nation’s orphans. Awww!
