Malaysia Airlines Has Been Involved In Another Airborne Incident!

Oh no!
After having one of its flights shot down earlier this month, and another lost at sea earlier this year, Malaysia Airlines has had another scary incident with one of its planes.
When flight MH136 was barreling down the runway at Adelaide Airport in Australia, air traffic control had to tell the pilots to abort the take off because another flight was on a collision course to hit it!
The other flight, a Tiger Airways plane, was at fault, but still, bracing for lift off only to have the plane slam on its brakes instead must be a pretty terrifying experience!
The Aviation Herald explains:

“A Tiger Airways Airbus A320 on approach had been too high and too fast on approach.”

It sounds as though the two flights could have avoided each other had the A320 not been going so fast. But, it’s always better to be safe than sorry, so we’d say air traffic control made a pretty good call.
We’re glad that everyone involved with this potential disaster is okay, and that Malaysia Airlines was just a bystander in this whole ordeal.
After waiting for its brakes to cool down following the emergency stop, MH136 took off en route to its final destination in Kuala Lumpur.
Safe travels, everyone!
