If you don’t know Margot Robbie‘s name, you soon will as she just landed another big role!
The 25-year-old actress, who most recently starred in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and will appear in both The Legend of Tarzan and Suicide Squad this summer, is set to play infamous figure skater Tonya Harding.

The movie titled I, Tonya will be written by Steven Rogers — who wrote Kate & Leopold and P.S. I Love You — and it does not have a release date yet but Rogers’ rep confirmed Margot’s involvement.
Harding was one of the most infamous figures in American sports because after winning the U.S. Figure Skating Championships and earning second in the World Championships, she was involved in the attack on fellow American skater Nancy Kerrigan.
Months before the 1994 Winter Olympics, Tonya’s ex-husband, who also happened to be one of her bodyguards, hired someone to break Kerrigan’s legs at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
The attack left Nancy with a bruised leg which forced her to withdraw from the Olympics.

In March 1994, Tonya pled guilty to helping to conspire to hinder prosecution in the attack and as a result she was banned from the U.S. Figure Skating Association for life.
Interestingly enough, everyone’s favorite American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson recently revealed that she is VERY interested in playing Harding sometime:

“I’m sort of interested in the Tonya Harding/Nancy Kerrigan thing. I would like to play Tonya Harding, I’m just putting that out there. I’ve got the skating skills and the bangs and the hair. I’m really into the hair thing. Half the job is the hair. I’ve done that once before, and now I feel like it suits me.”

We’re crossing out fingers for you, Sarah!
What do you think of Robbie playing Harding?!
