Matthew Morrison is winning our hearts over once again now that he’s doing what he does best: singin’ those standards we all love!
The Glee star headed to the TODAY show to perform the first single, It Don’t Mean A Thing, off his new album Where It All Began.
Ch-ch-check it out (above)!!!
Prior to his performance, Mr. Schue revealed that he has a longstanding history with some of these songs. He said:
“I grew up listening to these [standards], and obviously people know me from Glee, but I had a long tenure career on Broadway before that.”
While the singer grew up listening to the sounds of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy David Jr., it turns out he also got to record at the Capitol Records studio Frank did years ago. He even got to use the same microphone! Matt gushed:
“The sensation of using that microphone was an amazing experience, along with a 60 piece orchestra that was in the room, too.”
Lucky, lucky, Matt!! That’s one for the books!
