Mischa Barton must feel so relieved!
On Monday, The O.C. alum snagged a legal victory in her lawsuit against an ex boyfriend who attempted to sell footage of her having sex — footage that was filmed without the industry vet’s consent. Nonetheless, the 31-year-old walked victorious as her lawyer Lisa Bloom celebrated their big legal win on Twitter.

After presenting their case at a hearing at the Los Angeles Superior Court, Barton’s attorney took to social media and wrote:

YASSSSS! This update comes mere months after reports first claimed that a sex tape featuring Mischa was being shopped around town. Barton quickly sought the legal counsel of Miz Bloom and the twosome announced they would be prosecuting the TV starlet’s ex as a “revenge porn” peddler. Well, at least this case didn’t drag out!
On winning the court’s favor, Bloom shared in a statement to People:
“Mischa did not consent to the release of any such photos or videos. We went into court and obtained court orders barring anyone from trafficking in images like this of Mischa… Today we have won an important agreement, which permanently blocks the dissemination of these images. All explicit photos and videos of Mischa must be handed over to me immediately. Her ex must stay 100 yards away from her today, tomorrow, and forever. And the court will retain jurisdiction over the case in case we need further enforcement.”
AH-Mazing. Lisa continued:
“I am proud to declare victory for Mischa. She did this not just for herself, but for all women and girls. Mischa wants everyone to know that we have the right to control our own bodies and decide whether or not to have explicit photos out there for the world to see. If a woman wants to do that, fine. If she doesn’t, fine. The choice is hers and hers alone.”
Hear! Hear! This is honestly such an empowering win for women everywhere.
