Sad Reason Nicole Kidman Is Now Desperate To Reconnect With Her & Tom Cruise's Kids

We knew Nicole Kidman was fast-tracking a reunion with her estranged kids… Now we know it’s for a HEARTBREAKING reason.

We may not ever see ’em together, but Nicole is mom to two kids with Tom Cruise. Back when they were married in the ’90s, the then-power couple adopted Isabella Jane Cruise and Connor Cruise. But after mom and dad split in 2001, the kiddos both sided with Tom and have since grown up in the world of Scientology. There hasn’t actually been a public sighting of them with Nicole since 2007! Damn!

We’ve been hearing for a while now that the Babygirl star is keen on mending her relationship with Isabella and Connor, now 31 and 29, respectively. But something happened in September that really made her kick things into high gear: the death of her mother Janelle Ann Kidman. On Monday, a family friend told New Idea the Being the Ricardos star is making “concerted efforts” to reconciling with her kids because it was the final vow she made to her own mom:

“Janelle’s death has left a huge gap in Nicole’s heart, so it’s only natural she’d be seeking some kind of solution.”

According to the insider, Nicole told her husband Keith Urban, with whom she shares daughters Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13, that she wants Isabella and Connor to be “active members” of the family in 2025:

“Losing her mum has made Nicole not want to waste any more time. It hurt Janelle that she and husband Antony were estranged from [Isabella and Connor]. They were their first two grandchildren and were once very close. It was a deep regret that they were unable to see her in person before she died.”

The source added:

“Nicole is wrongly taking responsibility for that, but it’s fueling her need for a proper reconciliation.”

Poor Nicole. It sounds like she’s going through a LOT right now… Isabella and Connor actually ended up reaching out to their mom in the wake of Janelle’s death, which was a necessary step in reconciliation.
