Noah Cyrus might only be 13, but she’s already looking to make a difference!
The animal-loving teen has teamed up with PETA Kids in hopes of raising awareness of the abuse and poor conditions performing animals endure in the circus.
Noah took action when she saw Ringling Bros. was coming to her hometown of Nashville, and she wrote a letter to the school board urging them to avoid any field trips to the traveling circus!
She writes:
“When they’re not performing, elephants are kept on short chains and have no freedom to move around, look for food or water, or do anything else that would be meaningful or important to them in the wild. The only thing that kids learn from a circus performance is that it’s acceptable to bully animals for human entertainment. That’s a terrible lesson that should never come with the school’s endorsement.”
Noah and PETA Kids also released a short PSA video that exposes more of the harsh realities elephants and tigers are forced to endure everyday.
It’s so great to see the youngster getting actively involved in an issue that clearly means a lot to her, and hopefully her efforts can help raise awareness and bring an end to animal abuse!
Ch-ch-check out Noah’s video (above)!
