DJ Pauly D is calling out Aubrey O’Day’s take on their now-defunct relationship.
Days ago, the former Danity Kane member told Us Weekly she “truly felt tortured” during her relationship with the Jersey Shore Family Vacation star, whom she dated from 2016 to 2017.

Now, the MTV star is sharing his side of the story. While he acknowledges their relationship wasn’t perfect, he says O’Day calling it “torture” is a bit much, telling Us:
“I was shocked when I heard it at the time on the show, but hearing it now, saying that she was ‘tortured,’ well it’s a good thing we’re not together anymore. That’s such a strong word to say, like she’s a bit dramatic. When she said that I was looking at the comments, and it’s like these people, they can see right through her. … Torture’s a big word.”
Why did O’Day feel tortured? The 34-year-old songstress said there were “rules” in the relationship that “needed to be followed.”
Pauly, however, says these “rules” were simply not cheating on each other — which he sees as a staple of a healthy relationship. He quipped:
“Rules of a relationship? Yeah, you can’t hook up with other guys. She calls those rules. I don’t see them as rules. It’s just life. When you’re in a relationship, you don’t do certain things. That’s it. That relationship — what a mess.”
Tortured or not, Pauly definitely has no regrets about their relationship ending — especially after he learned about his ex’s alleged affair with Donald Trump Jr. in 2012.
He said of the scandal:
“I found out when the world found out, it was in the press and I said, ‘Oh, wow! That’s crazy.’ Hey listen, she did what she had to do at the time, I guess. The way I feel is I dodged a bullet. I’m glad that I was out of that whole situation.”
The two may have split over a year ago, but fans will get to see the last of their relationship play out on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, which is currently airing on WE tv.
