Pet Store Ban In Canada

Pet Store Ban In Canada

puppies in a pet store window

A suburb in Vancouver has banned the sale of puppies from pet stores.

They are trying to urge residents to adopt.

Shutting down stores will slow the demand for pet store puppies, hopefully bringing attention to the issue of puppy mills.

In British Columbia the average number of people purchasing their puppies from breeders, often via pet stores is 51%!

This is very high, being that in the US the average number is 25%.

This is a step to getting rid of puppy mills all together.
