Ricky Gervais is always looking for a way to inform the public on the harsh realities many animals face.
Even when the motivation comes from a Twitter fan!
A follower of the comedian tweeted Ricky and asked for a retweet so he and his sister can get a dog.
Ricky agreed….but the dog had to be a rescue…and then he took the time out to tweet about shelter dogs in general!
He tweets:
