Carrie is woke AF… and we love it!
Recently, Sarah Jessica Parker attended the Deauville Film Festival for the premiere of her new film Here and Now (called Blue Night in the States) where she was asked about Sex & the City, which celebrated its 20th anniversary on June 6.

Despite its legacy, the 53-year-old says the famed HBO program now looks “tone-deaf” because of its “lack of diversity.” In case you forgot, the four leads — Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda — are all white women.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, SJP explained:

“You couldn’t make it today because of the lack of diversity on screen… I personally think it would feel bizarre.”

The Divorce star is also not fond of a reboot, even with a “different cast.”

“I don’t know that you could do it with a different cast… I think that’s radical and interesting, but you can’t pretend it’s the same.”

She added:

“It wouldn’t be a reboot as I understand it… If you came back and did six episodes, you’d have to acknowledge the city is not hospitable to those same ideas. You’d look like you were generationally removed from reality, but it would be certainly interesting to see four diverse women experiencing NYC their way… It would be interesting and very worthwhile exploring, but it couldn’t be the same.”

Speaking of SATC, Miz Parker said she is “so proud” of former costar and current New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon, who recently debated Governor Andrew Cuomo.
In September 2017, Sarah confirmed there will be no third SATC movie.
