Satanic Temple Settles Lawsuit With Netflix Over 'Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina' Misappropriation

Satanist lawsuit sabrina netflix

Hollywood is finally giving Satan some credit.
The Satanic Temple has settled its $150 million lawsuit against Netflix and Warner Bros. over a “misappropriated” use of a monument of Baphomet that appeared in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
As we reported, the Temple unleashed a hellish lawsuit earlier this month, claiming that the statue displayed in Sabrina Spellman’s witch school, The Academy of Unseen Arts, infringes on its copyrighted goat statue.

Temple officials especially weren’t happy that the supernatural drama was giving Satan a bad name by associating the sacred statue with the “morally repugnant actions” of the show’s “evil antagonists,” like “cannibalism and forced-worship of a patriarchal deity.”
Now, Satanists are smiling once again.
Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves released a statement on Wednesday saying the lawsuit was “amicably settled.” Although he couldn’t go into much detail, as most of the terms are “subject to a confidentiality agreement,” he did reveal:

“The unique elements of the Satanic Temple’s Baphomet statue have been acknowledged in the credits of episodes which have already been filmed. The remaining terms of the settlement are subject to a confidentiality agreement.”

Credit where credit’s due, we guess?
