Gone but never forgotten.
Every year there’s sadly a number of stars who leave this world, but 2018 felt even worse with the amount of stars who left wayyyy too soon.
Let’s remember them now.
Mac Miller
Mac Miller passed away at the age of 26 after a reported drug overdose on September 9. The Pittsburgh-native’s fifth studio album Swimming debuted on the charts just one month ahead of his death. He dated fellow singer Ariana Grande for two years, and was recently nominated for his first Grammy posthumously.
Kim Porter
Kim Porter passed away at the age of 47 on November 15, leaving behind four children. Formerly the partner of Sean “Diddy” Combs, the model and actress was still close friends with the entertainer as they co-parented three of her children. While her autopsy has been completed, her cause of death is still under investigation.
Anthony Bourdain
Anthony Bourdain was found dead by suicide on June 8 near Strasbourg, France where he was filming an episode for his traveling food show Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. A vocal advocate against sexual harassment, he spoke out against fellow chef Mario Batali as well as Harvey Weinstein following his partner Asia Argento‘s accusations against him. After his death, CNN announced they would air the final season of his show posthumously. He left behind his daughter Ariane, two ex wives and his partner.
Kate Spade
Kate Spade, founder and former co-owner of the brand Kate Spade New York was found dead after suicide by hanging in her New York apartment on June 5. According to police, she left a note behind for daughter Frances. Following her death, her husband Andy Spade released a statement about her struggle with anxiety and depression. In addition to the legacy of her brand as well as her husband and daughter, she left behind family including brother-in-law David Spade and niece Rachel Brosnahan.
Avicii
Tim Bergling, better known by his stage name Avicii, was found dead of self-inflicted injuries at the age of 28 in Oman on April 20. The Swedish DJ and musician played a large part in popularizing the EDM genre after beginning his career in 2006 with songs including Levels and Wake Me Up. His family released a statement opening up about his struggles with depression.
