The Walking Dead Follows Shocking Season Premiere With Most Ridiculous Episode Ever! And It's Gr-r-reat!

no title
The first episode of The Walking Dead season seven was enough to break the hearts and turn the stomachs of even veteran fans.
Episode 2 had… a guy with a tiger.
Seriously, WTF is up with this guy??

Last season we saw Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) being rescued by some guys wearing armor and riding horses — but we didn’t think they were knights!
It turns out their settlement, the Kingdom, really is appropriately named: it’s run by a king!
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) is a bombastic British regent with dreadlocks and a scepter. He looks straight out of community theatre Shakespeare, except for the Mad Max threads and oh yeah — the frickin’ TIGER at his side!
The entire episode entitled The Well is spent in the Kingdom, a welcome respite for fans looking to get away from the aftermath of that eenie meeny miney murder from last ep.

We learn a lot about Ezekiel in this introduction. Though he seems crazy as a loon, there may be a method to his madness…
He rules with an even hand, giving citizens of the Kingdom a happy, peaceful, secure life. He gives Morgan a purpose, teaching a young orphan about the ways of combat and peace. He gives Carol a way to live in isolation without everyone worrying she’ll die out in the wilderness.
Though he also must pay his tribute to Negan — that guy knows everybody — he does so in secret, away from the community, so as not to cause panic and terror. He does, however, give them pigs fed with rotten walker meat in quiet defiance.
King Ezekiel may actually be living the best post-apocalyptic life of anyone the show has ever introduced!
And he did it all by… faking everything! See his big reveal to Carol below!

Are YOU in love with King Ezekiel? Or is it just too weird after last week??
Speaking of grim, check out Daryl’s fate in a clip from next week, when TWD returns Sunday at 9 p.m EST on AMC.
