Lorde wearing baby pink is just so punk somehow!
The singer performed at the 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at Barclays Center in Brooklyn last night in a rather girly Vionnet suit worn with a black crop top.
It was so very pink!
We're not used to seeing the super feminine color on the Kiwi teen, but she worked it, and with her thick, messy hair and berry lips, she managed to still retain her singular edginess.
Just don't hate her because she's only 17 and already got to perform with the remaining members of Nirvana during their Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Or do. Jealousy may actually be warranted in this case.

The day has finally come. Nirvana, one of the most influential bands in music history has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The momentous occasion comes almost exactly twenty years after lead singer Kurt Cobain’s death, whose memory was ever present at the ceremony in Brooklyn last night.
Joining the band for four emotional performances were four immensely talented ladies - Lorde, Joan Jett, Sonic Youth vocalist Kim Gordon and St. Vincent.
Each one stepped up to the mic to sing one of Nirvana’s now classic songs. 17-year-old Lorde channeled her inner ennui for a cover of All Apologies. Jett of course had to show she’s still very much a rock star with a rousing rendition of Smells Like Teen Spirit.
St. Vincent performed Lithium while Gordon took on Aneurysm.
Just a truly amazing night for music.

As we reported earlier, Peaches Geldof has died.
The breathtaking beauty, only 25-years-young, was the mother of two babies and a happily married woman to husband Thomas Cohen. That only makes her unexpected passing that much more difficult for most to bear.
Most of our favorite celebs were also some of her biggest fans and they've had understandably sad reactions to the news of her passing.
Here are their heartbreakingly candid Twitter reactions:
We don’t think we’ve ever seen Lorde quite like this!!
The insanely talented 17-year-old covers the May issue of FASHION Magazine in a style that is completely unlike her usual killer gothic style.
Obvious Photoshop work aside, rockin' an Ancient Rome-inspired dress and earrings by Dolce & Gabbana, she certainly looks Royal to us! Lorde even ditched the dark pout in favor of a peachy color, accenting the golden hue of her ensem.
They definitely didn’t take a page out of her MAC look book for this one!
Inside the mag, we get more of a glimpse with Lorde donning a stunning red and navy printed frock with a dazzling necklace.

A knight complimenting a Lorde? And they say chivalry is dead! LOLz!
The Royals singer has received many accolades in her short career, but we wonder if any could possibly compare to this!
Music legend and Oscar, Tony, and Grammy-winning songwriter Sir Elton John has paid this gurl the highest compliment possible!
She makes him want to be a better writer! He said:
