Alicia Keys Admits To NOT Being A Homewrecker

alicia-keyes-homewrecke.jpg

Hmm. Wonder why she felt the need to clarify this point now.

When Alicia Keys first started seeing her now husband Swizz Beatz, there was speculation that she had gotten involved with him BEFORE he had officially left his wife. Alicia has remained mum on these allegations for a long time, but in a recent interview, she finally admitted that she was never the "homewrecker" people painted her out to be. She explained:

"We didn't start seeing each other until months after they had separated. I was aware of all the false things that were being said about me it definitely hurt."

People talk. The most important thing is that you didn't let the gossip keep you two from creating a life together - or the tirades from his ex-wife, who fueled the gossip fires by telling people Alicia had "destroyed" her family. Of her husband's ex, Alicia said:

"I was sure that if I engaged it would become back-and-forth like some sick entertainment, which goes against everything I believe and would have made things worse."

Very class move. We respect that a lot.

Alicia Keys To Commemorate Debut Album With Very Special Show

Filed under: Music Minute > Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys One Night Concert

Alicia Keys is doing a few things to celebrate the decade since Songs In A Minor, like a special edition re-release of it, and a cool, one night only show!

The show is called Piano & I: A One Night Only Event With Alicia Keys, and during it's she'll be performing Minor in its entirety, plus other hits and singles throughout the decade!

Here's what the singer had to say about it:

"I can't think of a better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Songs In A Minor, than by holding a special, intimate concert for my fans," said Keys. "Performing is the most extraordinary way for an artist to connect with their fans, and I'm thrilled to put on a great show at the Beacon Theatre to help thank everyone who has supported me throughout the years."

You're right, Alicia, it does sound like a fab way to entertain some of your closes fans! Those lucky enough to get in, of course!

The show will be at the Beacon Theatre on June 30th, in NYC! You can get tickets here.

Alicia, we hope the next decade is even better!

Alicia Keys Celebrating 10 Years With Anniversary Edition Of A Minor!

Filed under: Music Minute > Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys 10th Anniversary

Fab!

We love Alicia Keys, and what better way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Songs In A Minor than a deluxe 10th anniversary edition??

We can't think of one, that's for sure!

Here's what's on it:

The Deluxe two-disc and Collector’s Edition three-disc sets, due June 28, will boast special packaging and a beefed up booklet featuring new liner notes. Unheard tunes that didn’t make the original tracklisting will be featured on the new releases, including “A Woman’s Worth (Remix)” featuring Nas, the mixtape version of “Juiciest,” the previously unreleased “Typewriter,” and more.

Additionally, the Collector’s Edition will feature a documentary created for the commemorative release. The film explores the making of the album as well as interviews with Keys and those who worked on the Grammy-winning record.

Uh, sign us up! We can't wait for that!

Alicia had some things to say about it too:

“It’s incredibly surreal for me to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of songs in A minor. Looking back on the journey, I’m truly moved by my fans and friends who’ve been with me and have supported me throughout my career. This album is possibly the most precious to me, as your first album only happens once, and so songs in A minor will always hold a special place in my life that’s filled with amazing memories.”

We can't tell you how ingrained this album is in our heads! We could never forget it, that's for sure!

Alicia, we're super glad you've had a successful career! It's time to make the next decade just as good! Hope everything is well!

Will U be picking up this new edition??
