Angelina Squashes Rumors
In an exclusive, new interview with Hello! magazine, Angelina Jolie firmly denies rumors that she is overwhelmed with the kiddies or that her relationship with Brad is in the pits.
Angelic Angelina says that she and her family don't pay much attention to rumors, because their lives are full of rainbows and puppies and bake sales and unicorns and lots and lots of money.
"We have fun, we have each other, and we have a lot of love in our life," says Jolly Jolie. "And anybody who has love in their life has something that is much more important than anything else" - even those nasty rumors.
And what about the 3-month-old twins? Angelina says, "They're good babies, and pretty much on schedule. They pretty much eat every three hours, so I've arranged breaks in my day around that." Of course Her Royal Perfection would have perfect, punctual children.
She talks about how she loves to watch the twins interact, and adds, "You reach a point where you almost think that to have one baby alone would be kind of lonely."
But Vivienne and Knox will never be lonely. "It's a big, loud, busy family," says Jolie, "They're all great travellers, too, and I think partly because there are so many of them, they're able to make themselves at home anywhere. They can just go into an empty room, take it over, and make it their home, which is a wonderful gift."
Or a nightmare.
Good to know because the family has recently been all over the world, most recently settling into Germany.
But with the excitement of the twins comes a touch of poignancy for Ange, as the twins are the first babies that her late mother will not be able to be grandmother to. Marcheline Bertrand died of cancer in January at only 56. Angelina remembers her fondly.
"She was an amazing mom and she shouldn't have passed away so young. She was partly French-Canadian, and she always loved France, so when I was deciding where to have the children, it was just a very comforting idea to do it in France, because I knew she would have loved it. That's a reason why we're all learning French, too, because she always wanted my children to speak the language. It's a beautiful language and a beautiful culture, and being in that part of the world always reminds me of her."
But she is quick to add that the children are all American citizens and proud to be so: "One of the best things about America is that we are a melting pot, a mix of many, many different races and nations. Yes, they have their own nationalities and are very proud of them, but that certainly doesn't diminish the fact that they're American. To me, that is what being American is."
Like all other parents, the family struggles to balance work, play, and the kids, saying that when they go out - which is no small affair - they find it easier to hang with other parents because other parents are "more respectful of our privacy than many people because they understand what it's like just to want to be with your kids. Parents are much kinder to us than some other members of the public."
But of course, people still want to take pictures, and when the kids ask why, Brad and Ange tell them it's because of their parents' particular profession.
Which Angie says she is ready to get back to, after a year long hiatus. Ever the perfect "best friend," Brad supports Angelina all the way, reminding her that her work is an integral part of her. No wonder she calls him one of her "favorite people."
Along with the kiddies, of course!
After returning to work, Angelina plans on curing world hunger and obesity!
