But they told us friendship is forever!!!
We're VERY sad to report that the Spice Girls have been forced into retirement after a failed attempt to plan a second reunion world tour that was set for 2014
Following Victoria Beckham's public refusal to tour with the girls, remaining members Mel B., Mel C., Geri Halliwell, and Emma Bunton made the decision to throw in their leopard print and platform boots out of fear that they would be unable to sell tix and merch without the beloved Posh Spice.
A source spilled:

So sad!
The Spice Girls’ musical Viva Forever will be saying goodbye to London’s West End in the next eight weeks! The show, featuring the girl group’s biggest hits, wasn’t good enough to make the cut and will be closing at a loss of close to $8 million! YIKES!
The five released a joint statement upon the announcement of the musical’s cancellation:
As if Emma Bunton and Melanie C. dressing up as their youthful, Spice Girls counterparts wasn't adorable enough, now we get to see Ginger Spice AKA Geri Halliwell singing Say You'll Be There to a bar full of STRANGERS!!
Ch-ch-check out the HIGHlarious footage (above)!
But WHY did the former popstar decide to serenade random dudes drinking pints at a pub?! Was she singing for her supper perhaps?
NAY! It seems like the sexiest Spice was DARED to do it by the scariest Spice of them all AKA Mel B.!
The pair exchanged tweets about the challenge, writing:

Ever since Victoria Beckham officially decided to go her separate, fashionista way, the other Spice Girls have been busying themselves up with other extracurricular activities, including Geri Halliwell!
The ginger singer will be heading to Australia to judge on Australia’s Got Talent! She’ll be joining three other judges, including Dawn French, Timomatic, and Kyle Sandilands.
On singing competition shows, Geri said:

We’re still waiting for our dream to come true!
Please, Spice Girls, reunite!
Unfortunately it sounds like we’re going to be waiting for a while because the ladiez aren’t getting any closer to bringing back girl power.
We’ve known for awhile that Victoria Beckham has been holding out on hitting the stage once again, but we didn’t think it’d cause the end of the Spice Girls forever!
Mel C admitted that if Posh Spice Victoria wants to be done with the girl group then they will gladly let it be. She said:

Twitter can be a scary, scary place!
And that’s just what Geri Halliwell found out this week.
The former Spice Girl took to Twitter as Margaret Thatcher passed away and tried her best to express her feelings about the sad moment.
Unfortunately, her post got some seriously harsh feedback.
She had tweeted:
“Thinking of our 1st Lady of girl power, Margaret Thatcher, a green grocer's daughter who taught me any thing is possible…x.”
We’re not sure what people tweeted to Ginger Spice after it went up, but it was bad enough that she deleted her message!
And now, she’s totes regretting the change as she posted a message on her site:

Well if the rumors are true and Posh really WON'T have anything to do with the girls anymore, we guess this is the next best thing…
And by next best thing, we mean pretty freakin' smart!!!
Sources say Geri Halliwell is so determined to get a Spice Girls tour together by next year that she's trying to helm a reality show, thought to be called Wannabe Spice.
The show will find a replacement for Victoria Beckham, according to the insider, as they say:
