Well, it looks like that strategy was counter-productive.
The View got hit where it hurts — in the piggy bank — when a few sponsors pulled their ads after host Joy Behar began cracking jokes about Miss Colorado's decision to wear scrubs and deliver a monologue about being a nurse during this year's Miss America pageant.
To get back on everyone's good side, the show decided to invite a bunch of nurses on the panel program to prove to audiences — and advertisers — everywhere just how much they love RNs!
Too bad it didn't work.
Three more companies have yanked their commercials during the show's slot, including Party City, Snuggle, and McCormick spices.
They join Johnson & Johnson and Eggland's Best, who paused their promotions on Thursday.
The spice corporation took to Facebook to explain its decision to back out of advertising during The View, writing:
Time for a little damage control!
Earlier this week, The View came under fire for comments that Michelle Collins and Joy Behar made about nurses when commenting on Miss Colorado Kelly Johnson's Miss America monologue about her profession as a nurse.
Since then, the co-hosts have apologized for their ignorance and misspoken words and Miz Johnson even went on Ellen to talk a bit about the attention that she brought to nurses through the pageant — though she kept it EXTREMELY classy and didn't bring up The View controversy.
Well after news broke that The View lost a couple sponsors in Johnson & Johnson and Eggland's, it looks like they're trying to do some spin doctoring!
On Friday's show, the hosts
You know what they say about karma…
The View found itself in a bit of a controversy this week after two of its hosts decided to poke fun at Miss Colorado for going on stage at the Miss America competition in her nurse's scrubs.
Well, it seems as though some major companies were just as mad as viewers over Joy Behar and Michelle Collins' comments, because two of the ABC talk show's biggest advertisers just pulled their commercials!
Both Johnson & Johnson and Eggland's Best announced on Thursday that they will no longer be supporting the panel!
It's not quite clear why the egg producer wanted to be separated from The View's anti-nurse image, but we totally see why J&J wouldn't want to be associated with the show.
Michelle already apologized for the way her statement came across, but we guess that just wasn't enough.
What do U think about the latest update in the #NursesUnite scandal??

Well that took no time at all!
In that week they've already managed to offend people with some of their commentary about one of the contestants in the Miss America pageant being a nurse — to which they've already apologized (below)!
During the talent the portion of the contest, Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, performed a monologue which talked quite a bit about her profession as a nurse.
Yesterday Collins apparently felt the need to express her opinion about the monologue as well as question why she was wearing a stethoscope during the segment. She shared:
Well, you got to give credit to Joy Behar for always saying what's on her mind!
On Tuesday's episode of Watch What Happens Live, Joy took a major shot at Rosie O'Donnell for quitting The View AGAIN this past February.
Apparently, O'Donnell's back and forth with the show has left a bad impression on the comedienne.
Talking to Andy Cohen, Behar lashed out at her former co-star, saying:
"This not the first time she's left. She's left before. She's like the Sarah Palin of television. She quits in the middle of her job! But you know, she's so rich, and she's the first person to tell you, she don't care."
Yep, that's definitely a dig at Rosie! Considering how much Joy despises Sarah, we'd even go as far to say that it's a MAJOR dig!
According to Behar, she always knew Ms. O'Donnell wouldn't last…check out the full conversation (below)!
