Chelsea O'Donnell is speaking out AGAIN.
As for what triggered her departure, O'Donnell explained her need to find out the truth behind her birth mom and family roots. The 18-year-old explained:
"When I turned a certain age I had a deep desire to know where I came from at birth and what my biological family looked like and were from, so I did that and although I was disappointed, I am glad to have closure on that part of my life and I have no desires to continue a relationship with the woman who gave birth to me. Today, I am trying to heal deep settled wounds and continue on with my high school education I was unable to finish and go to college to do great things in my life."
Sounds like an experience most adopted children go through! It's also nice to know that Chels is still concerned with pursuing an education.
In regards to Rosie's claims that her daughter is suffering from a mental illness, Chelsea responded:
On Monday, the former star of The View opened up to Extra about her 18-year-old, during her Rosie's Theater Kids' 12th Annual Gala Celebration in New York City.
The teenager was noticeably absent from the event, and has supposedly been rebuilding her relationship with her birth mother.
After Chelsea went missing earlier this year, it turns out she ran away to be with boyfriend Steven Sheerer. Now that she's 18, and legally a consenting adult, she's reportedly living with his family in New Jersey.
The 53-year-old admitted that, while she's upset her daughter wasn't attending her big evening, the momma was just grateful that she knows her child's whereabouts, saying:
Rosie O'Donnell & Tatum O'Neal Continue Igniting Reconciliation Rumors At The Comedienne's Charity Event!
How much longer can Rosie O'Donnell and Tatum O'Neal keep up this "just friends" charade?!
On Monday night, Tatum attended a benefit for Rosie's inspirational Theater Kids charity which assists low-income children interested in an arts education.
The annual event, which once raised close to a million dollars, is very near and dear to the comedienne's heart — and O'Neal's presence is so telling as to where these two stand in their "friendship".
Considering the pair were exchanging flirty social messages this past Friday, we can't say we're too surprised that they've resumed making public appearances together. Even though the pair only reportedly dated for four months, it's clear they have a strong connection and bond regardless of their relationship status!
While Tate's appearance at the gala was definitely a bright spot in Rosie's evening, the absence of her troubled 18-year-old daughter, Chelsea O'Donnell was obviously a let down.
Speaking on her Chelsea's no-show status, the actress confided:
"Yes, all of my kids except Chelsea are here. Which is sad, but hopefully, there will come a day when she'll want to come."
At least R.O. has Tatum in all of this mess…
We just wonder when these two will decide to make their romantical feelings public!

ICYMI: Rosie O'Donnell & Tatum O'Neal Exchange Some Flirty Messages On Social Media — Are These Two Back On?!
In the latest dramatic twist concerning the pair's
relationship "friendship", on October 30 Rosie tweeted and also gushed over a lovely picture of her ex taken at the actress' early birthday party.
While O'Donnell apparently wasn't at the event organized by O'Neal's daughter, it's clear she was sent a selfie from the bash, or even borrowed the pic from Tate's Instagram to coo over.

Rosie O'Donnell Reacts After Her Daughter Said She Didn't Want To Be Brought Into Her Mom's 'Drama!'
On Friday, the 53-year-old took to Twitter to open up about her teenager's latest social media post regarding their ongoing family drama.
About a week and a half ago, the 18-year-old used the status-sharing site to write a note asking internet users to keep her out of conversations centered on her famous mom, writing:
"I don't want to come off rude, that is not my intention. However, I have asked not to be brought into any Rosie drama and that I don't want to hear anything about her. I would appreciate it if anyone who is tagging me or asking me questions about her would please stop. Thank you."
That didn't seem to sit well with the comedian, because she just tweeted a screenshot of Chelsea's plea along with a fairly recent selfie, writing:
"18 years ago tomorrow—I met my daughter for the first time…a plea 10 days ago…now a photo shoot #choices."
