A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, right?

Following news that Jennifer Lawrence is set to portray literary icon Zelda Fitzgerald in a Ron Howard directed film, Scarlett Johansson came out with her own Zelda news.

Per the Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett will take on the complicated figure in her own project which will be financed by Millennial Films. While there's not many additional details about S.J.'s plans, the report did confirm the company will have access to recently unearthed transcripts from where Fitzgerald was institutionalized in the later years of her life. Apparently the docs confirm rampant theories that her famous husband Scott F. Fitzgerald stole many of her ideas for his own benefit.

Umm… talk about an edge, much?! We imagine Scarlett has way more material to work with!

Speaking on the exciting film, Millennium president Mark Gill explained:

"It was the height of the Jazz Age, so you have all of that glamor and sophistication and living large. But you also have the massive drama of fly high, crash hard. She was massively ahead of her time, and she took a beating for it. He stole her ideas and put them in his books. The marriage was a co-dependency from hell with a Jazz Age soundtrack."

Sounds like a lot of drama!

So, who would you rather see play Zelda?

Fans of Stranger Things have to wait Eleven-knows-how-long until the show returns to Netflix for season 2.

Thankfully, those who need their fix for the strange still have PLENTY to watch in the meantime!

The Duffer Brothers were admittedly inspired by several Steven Spielberg and Stephen King films for their supernatural hit, but even more of the hit series' themes and dark visuals can be found in these other spooky films!

Fans of the kids fighting back against monsters will love Attack The Block, while those who enjoy seeing sheltered telekinetic girls wreaking havoc will love the horror classic Carrie.

And let's not forget the scary sci-fi movie Under The Skin, which follows Scarlett Johansson in a "Black Room" similar to El's… only a lot scarier! Find out what other films made our list…

Hillary Clinton Expects Mark Ruffalo To Keep His Promise & Go Full Frontal If She's Elected! But It Wouldn't Be His First Movie Nude Scene…

no title

Earlier this week, a video campaign featuring stars like Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and James Franco urged voters to get out and vote this November — specifically to make sure that Donald Trump is NOT elected president.

Doing his part to incentivize voters, Mark Ruffalo pledged to get naked — a.k.a. go the "Full Markie" — in his next film if "orange muppet Hitler" loses the election.

Now Hillary Clinton herself is weighing in on the Avengers star's nudity pledge, and she fully expects the actor to stay true to his words, telling People:

"For the record, I was planning to vote anyway. That said, Mark's a true patriot, I'm sure he won't let America down."

Ha! Little does HRC know (or maybe she does?), Ruffalo already filmed a scene in the buff-alo in the 2003 erotic thriller In The Cut — so, we're sure he won't mind stripping down a second time for the good of America!

For more actors who Hillary Clinton may or may not know already showed their patriotism…

Scarlett Johannson Gets Creepy AND Creeped Out In The First Footage From Controversial Ghost In The Shell Movie! Watch!

No one knows how to unplug like Scarlett Johansson!

At least that's the case in the trippy first teasers for Ghost in the Shell, the upcoming movie based on the popular manga series about an anti-cybercrime unit.

On Thursday, Dreamworks and Paramount released five brief, visually striking clips featuring the Avengers star as cyborg special-ops agent the Major.

Video: Scarlett Urges You To Vote To Save Us From 'Orange Muppet Hitler!'

In one clip, ScarJo unplugs from her charging station to start her day; in another, she stumbles upon a ring of people hooked up to what looks like a human-computer hub (no wifi, sadly).

While the actress certainly looks the part, her casting has been a subject of much controversy — many fans feel the Major's Japanese background in the source material (her name is Motoko Kusanagi in the manga) was disregarded due to Hollywood whitewashing.

Ch-ch-check out the teasers (below) and decide if YOU think Johansson is a good choice for the lead role. Ghost in the Shell hits theaters March 31.
