It seemed Venus Williams had gone from at fault to in the clear after video of her fatal car accident had shown she had not illegally entered the intersection.

But the estate of the late Jerome Barson is not giving up its wrongful death lawsuit just yet.

According to TMZ, lawyers have now filed a request for all of the tennis star's phone records to double check she wasn't on her cell just before or during the accident.

They have also asked for copies of any prescriptions for drugs Venus may have taken in the 72 hours before.

Police have already said Venus wasn't distracted by her phone and that drugs and alcohol played no part in the accident. Are the attorneys just grasping at straws?

Venus Williams may not be as culpable as was initially reported.

Previously, Williams had been found at fault for the car accident on June 9 that claimed the life of 78-year-old Jerome Barson.

But on Friday the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department issued a press release, along with security camera footage of the accident, revealing:

"After the initial investigation was conducted, new evidence into the incident was located. Based on the evidence obtained in the ongoing investigation, it has been determined the vehicle driven by Venus Williams lawfully entered the intersection on a circular green traffic signal."

Venus Williams has no words.

The tennis star broke down during a Wimbledon press conference when asked about the fatal car crash she's being sued for — and it's obvious the tragedy has left her speechless.

Last week, the athlete was found at fault in a car crash that occurred last month — one that left 78-year-old Jerome Barson dead. Officials say Williams impeded oncoming traffic by bowing through a red light, and was speeding while distracted.

When asked about the incident during Monday's presser, the 37-year-old was left completely speechless mid-sentence as she tried to keep from breaking down.

While we're sure she's been advised to refrain from making public statements about the accident, as she's currently being sued for wrongful death, it's clear this situation has left Williams shaken.

Venus Williams will need to lawyer up.

It's not looking good for Venus Williams.

As we previously reported, the tennis star was found to be "at blame" for a June 9 car accident which left the driver with serious injuries and her husband with critical injuries. He passed away in the ICU two weeks later.

According to TMZ, Jerome Barson's wife, Linda, is now suing the 37-year-old for wrongful death.

It's said her husband suffered massive internal bleeding, a fractured spine, and massive internal organ damage before succumbing to his injuries 14 days later on June 22. The surviving victim had a cracked sternum and multiple broken bones after the crash.

In the lawsuit filed by their lawyer, Michael Steinger, it claims Venus failed to yield the right of way after blowing through a red light while driving too fast while distracted. Thus, this reckless driving made the accident unavoidable. Additionally, the impact

Venus Williams has yet to respond.

It's being said Venus Williams was involved in a car accident earlier this month, which led to the death of a 78-year-old man.

According to TMZ, the tennis star was driving in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on June 9 when she drove her SUV into an intersection as another vehicle was coming. The other driver T-boned Venus' car.

Sadly, the driver's husband, Jerome Barson, suffered a head trauma and was taken to a hospital where he died 14 days later. Mrs. Barson survived the crash, says her attorney Michael Steinger.

Unfortunately for Venus, cops place her to blame for the fatal accident. The police report states, "[Venus] is at fault for violating the right of way of [the other driver]." It also adds that they don't believe the 37-year-old was under influence of drugs or alcohol, nor was there evidence she was distracted by an electronic device.

Interestingly enough, this Williams sister was in Paris a few days before for the French Open, and even posted to Instagram on June 10, a day after the reported accident:
