Idol judge Randy Jackson has seen the show go through lots of changes over his twelve seasons on the panel, but this year might be the biggest switch-up yet!
From Ellen DeGeneres joining in season nine, to Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler and now Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey — Randy has been through it ALL!
So just what does Jackson think about this year’s show so far?
Randy recently dished:
“The panel is on fire. The show is on fire. I think we may find that actual pop star again — that has the look, the whole fashion vibe, that has the voice and the talent.”
Basically they are searching for someone with the X Factor? Oops, wrong show, LOLz!
Randy sang the praises of one new judge in particular, country crooner Keith Urban!
Jackson added:
“I love him. He’s an amazing musician. He plays the guitar so well, it’s unbelievable. He’s amazingly talented, and his insight added a whole new meaning to the whole thing, because we never had anybody country.”
That is a good point… though, didn├óΓé¼Γäót Randy say they were looking for a POP star? Hmm… !
With The Voice and Duets both having country singers on the panel, we guess it was about time Idol joined in!
Randy also went on to call Mariah the “greatest singer in the world,” and brought up how Nicki is “hot on the charts,” as well!
We gotta hand it to Randy for sitting through SO many casting changes over the years!
